About Lewis

Lewis Johnson is a third year Animation & VFX Student at Drexel University. He is currently working to increase his skills in 3D computer graphics and animation techniques.

Lewis has had a deep love for the medium of animation and its tools since he started learning about them. This enthusiasm was fostered in high school through various projects and collaborative activities. He enjoyed helping drive innovation in the program by introducing the use of Blender and assisting in teaching others the new software.

Lewis helped represent Drexel at SIGGRAPH 2023 in Los Angeles. During this time he was exposed to the industry and attended various talks and events. This experience helped further deepen his love for the medium and excitement in the industry.

Stories have always had meaning for him. In high school, he spent two years in the theater program, which exposed him to classic stories and taught him skills in communication and presentation. He enjoyed the process of working with other students to block in scenes and practice performances.

Lewis believes that the stories we tell about ourselves and the world around us are some of the most essential forms of human expression and bring people together. He wants to give people’s dreams a form and a voice, validating the choices and feelings that people have in their lives, through animation and vfx.

In short, storytelling, especially through the medium of animation, is Lewis’ most enduring passion.
